Head of the Economic Committee, Al Watan Party
Tarek Shaalan is an Economist and a former member of Al Nour – a conservative political party which adheres to Salafist principles. Salafist parties believe that legislation should strictly follow the principles of Sharia. Dr Shaalan is a trained Engineer and a graduate of the University of Alexandria. He completed his post graduate studies at the University of Central Florida in the Unites States of America from where he holds his PhD.
Dr Shaalan is now a co-founding member of Al Watan – a Salafist political party formed by former members of Al Nour.
