Egyptian Organisation for Human Rights
Ghada Shahbender is a lawyer and an activist for political reform and human rights. A former English teacher, she co-founded Shayfeen.com in 2005 – a campaign to encourage government transparency and monitor elections. Ms. Shahbender is a board member of the Egyptian Organisation for Human Rights where she supports and provides legal guidance for victims of political violence. She was awarded the James Lawson award from the International Center for Nonviolent Conflict in 2011.
