Mohamed Salmawy

Mohamed Salmawy is the Editor in Chief of Al-Ahram Hebdo newspaper. He also writes for Al-Ahram daily and is a syndicated columnist in a number of other publications.  Mr. Salmawy is one of Egypt’s best known writers.  He is a playwright, novelist, columnist and political commentator. He has held a few official posts during his career, as an aide to the Minister of Information (2004-2005) and as Undersecretary of State for Foreign Cultural Relations at the Egyptian Ministry of Culture (1988-1989). He graduated from Cairo University with a B.A in English Literature and pursued Diplomas in English Civilisation and History, and Shakespearean Drama at Birmingham University and Oxford University respectively.
