EnNahdha Party
Ms. Merhezia Labidi is Tunisia’s Deputy Speaker of Parliament and a member of the EnNahdha party. She has a degree in English Language and Literature. As Deputy Speaker, Ms. Labidi is the most senior female politician in the Arab world. She is the coordinator of the Global Faith Network and co-president of Religions for Peace – a network of religious leaders from around the world. She lived in France for twenty-five years where she worked as a teacher. Ms. Labidi describes herself as an Islamist and a Feminist.
