Professor and Chair of AUC's Department of History
Khaled Fahmy is professor and chair of AUC’s Department of History. Professor Fahmy is a graduate of AUC, where he received a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in political science. He later went to Oxford University where he pursued a DPhil.
His academic career has extended beyond the region to New York University (NYU) where he served as associate professor of Middle Eastern and Islamic studies. Professor Fahmy’s expertise is on the social history of the Middle East and he regularly provides expert commentary to the local, regional and international media on issues concerning the region.
