H.A. Hellyer

Non resident Fellow in Foreign Policy, The Brookings Institution

H.A. Hellyer is a non resident Fellow in Foreign Policy at the Brookings Institution in Washington DC, and director of the VC Group research consortium. A widely published commentator in the Arab world and the West on Egyptian affairs, Dr Hellyer previously held posts at the American University in Cairo, the Gallup Organisation and the University of Warwick. A UN Global Expert, Dr Hellyer’s expertise has been called upon by different political parties and governments in the Arab world and Europe as well as civil society initiatives such as the television programme of the Egyptian political satirist, Bassem Youssef.
