Fawaz Tello

Syrian opposition activist

Fawaz Tello was a member of the Syrian National Council (SNC) until May 2012 when he resigned claiming the SNC was not meeting the demands of the Syrian revolution. Tello was one of the leaders of the Damascus Spring (2000-2001) and was a political prisoner from 2001 to 2006. He helped establish the National Council of the Damascus Declaration, the biggest Syrian opposition movement, which was set up to advocate gradual genuine reform of the Syrian political system (2006-2008). He left Syria February 2012 and now comments about the Syrian revolution.
