Republican People's Party (CHP)
Binnaz Toprak was born in Sivas, central Turkey. She received her BA and received her PhD from the City University of New York. She taught at the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Boğaziçi University, İstanbul until 2008. Dr Toprak has written extensively on secularism and political Islam. She has been a member of The Grand National Assembly of Turkey since 2011 and represents the CHP (Republican People’s Party).
