New Arab Debates founder and chairman Tim Sebastian will moderate the English debate on January 12th. Egyptian TV presenter Mai El Sherbiny will present the Arabic debate a day later. Both debates will be held at the Tunis Grand Hotel at 7pm.
Commenting on the upcoming debates, Tim Sebastian says: “The Arab Spring appeared to herald the arrival of fairer, more just societies and an end to dicatorship. Are those hopes still alive – or has the Arab Spring ended in civil war, sectarianism, increasing poverty and the misery of refugees? This is the question at the heart of the our debates in Tunis – and where better to ask it than in the birthplace of the Arab uprisings.”
