The New Arab Debates has changed the line up for its panelists on Thursday 1st November’s session debating Egypt’s transition to democracy.
Dr. Saad Eddin Ibrahim, professor of sociology and founder and director of the ibn Khaldoun Center for Development Studies, will be speaking for the motion: “This House believes democracy has had a disappointing start in Egypt” instead of Dr. Nevine Massad, professor of political science at Cairo University and Vice-President of the Institute of Arab Studies.
Sara Korshid, an Egyptian journalist and columnist and frequent commentator on Egyptian politics, will be speaking against the motion instead of Dr. Helmi El-Gazzar, member of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Consultative (Shura) Council.
The debate starts at 7pm at the same venue: Al-Azhar Conference Centre in Nasr City — al Tayaran Street.
